Welcome to Castroville Tx! Castroville is located approximately 15 minutes west of San Antonio and is a town rich in history. Founded in 1844, the town was originally settled by Henri Castro and a small group of French Alsatian colonists. Take a "virtual" tour of historic homes.

The "Little Alsace of Texas" is not only a wonderful place to live, but an excellent weekend getaway. Castroville is the scenic setting of a multitude of historic homes and other historic sites. Be sure to take the "Historic Walking Tour" while in town. You will want to save time to browse the numerous antique shops as well. When Castroville aerial viewyour taste buds beckon, there is a wide variety of appetizing fares to indulge in -- barbecue, French cuisine, German fare and more! The Regional Park is a wonderful place for a picnic and enjoying the Medina River, as well as letting the children explore the playground equipment.

Every year the town has a variety of events you will not want to miss. For more information on upcoming local events, bookmark our calendar. May features the Spring Tour of Historic Homes where you will get to tour the interiors and exteriors of a selection of Castroville's quaint historic homes, as well as learn some local history. In August you will want to be present for the "Homecoming for the State of Texas", The St. Louis Day Festival and the St. Louis Day Weekend Carnival. Order a mouth-watering barbecue plate with Alsatian sausage and enjoy the auction, craft booths, and recreational events. You will also not want to miss the Antique Shows and Fine Art Shows. The second Saturday of each month from March-December showcases Market Trail Days where numerous local craftsmen display their wares. The first Friday of every month is Fiorella Friday. Enjoy wine-tasting and stroll down Fiorella St for shopping. Live music is held in September Square. The second Friday of every month showcases Friday Night Fever -- a 50s style car/truck/bike show with live music, food and shopping.
