District Information:
Medina Valley Independent School District encompasses 296 square miles; 286 in Medina County and 10 in Bexar County. Medina Valley ISD provides the educational facilities and resources to meet the needs of approximately 3,000 students on six campuses. It is currently classified as a 4A UIL district. The district was formed in 1959 by the consolidation of the schools in Castroville and LaCoste. The boundaries of Medina Valley ISD extend north to the Medina Lake area, south to Lytle and Natalia, west toward Hondo, and east to San Antonio.

RECREATIONAL FACILITIES

Recreation in Castroville is plentiful, both locally and nearby.

Castroville Regional Park, located in the southwest part of Castroville, consists of 126 wooded acres on the Medina River. No fee is required for recreational use only (playgrounds, sports fields, courts, walking, jogging, fishing) There is a fee of $5.00 per day for use of individual picnic tables. Tent Camping is only $10.00 per day. A swimming pool is also available for use during the summer months.

Nearby San Antonio has much to offer with its many interesting sights, shopping centers, theatres, and miscellaneous amusements. Also close by are Medina Lake and the Gulf Coast.

MEDICAL SERVICES
Castroville medical services offer the best in healthcare, with three Doctors, two Orthodontists, one Optometrist, and three Dentists. Emergency Medical Services and Helicopter Service are available serving all Medina County.
